Federal Government Announces Funding to Continue Northern Ontario Passenger Service
Anthony Rota, MP (Nipissing-Timiskaming), and Andy Mitchell, MP (Parry Sound-Muskoka), on behalf of Transport Minister Jean-C. Lapierre, today announced that the Government of Canada has agreed to extend its funding agreement with the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission in order to continue passenger rail service between Toronto and North Bay. The funding totals $2.5 million and the agreement is effective from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006. Click here for more information.
